Are you looking for reasons to visit Myrtle Beach State Park? If you are looking for a spacious and relaxing South Carolina Beach, Myrtle Beach State Park is a great choice. Did you know? In 1936, Myrtle Beach State Park was the first park to open in the system! As you read more, you will truly love this state park.
This state park is located along the Grand Strand coastline at 4401 South Kings Highway. Here, the park sits perfectly among the oceanfront maritime forest. Best of all, the park is family friendly! The park offers educational opportunities, a nature trail, stunning beach ocean views and excellent surf fishing.
State Park Admission Information
The admission price is currently $5 adults and $3 for children ages 6-15. Children ages 5 and younger are free. There is also a discounted price of $3.25 for South Carolina seniors (age 65 & older). The hours are daily 6am-10pm, March-November and daily 6am-8pm, December through February.
When paying our admission, during our weekday visit, we had a short wait before entering the state park. If you are planning a weekend visit, you will encounter long lines when entering the park. You will experience the heaviest traffic times between 11am-4pm both Saturdays and Sundays. Plan accordingly!
