Have you been looking for some good firsthand Coronavirus travel advice? Well, you certainly have come to the right place. Nancy and I know firsthand about traveling during the Coronavirus. We have taken approximately 20 flights since June 2020, while traveling through 9 U.S. States. Most importantly, we have remained Covid free!
Firstly, we do understand your fears of traveling during this well known pandemic. However, if you travel wisely you can still live your life while making some beautiful memories. Remember the American Dream? Is staying home honestly the best advice?
Life Of The Empty Nesters Travels
So let’s talk about Life Of The Empty Nesters travels. Nancy and I did wear a mask while on public transportation, throughout air travel and while using Ubers. We recommend you wear masks on trains, ships, ferries, subways, taxis and Ubers. Be sure to bring hand sanitizers and wipes as well, you should wipe all surfaces before coming into contact with them
Does your destination have any requirements or restrictions for travelers? Do your homework and research your destination for mask mandates, any potential curfews and/or covid testing. Currently, many hotels are requiring masks be worn when entering and anytime you leave your room.
During your hotel stay, be sure to take advantage of the sanitizer dispensers located around your hotel as well. Those elevator buttons are always a great place for germs. Periodic hand washing works great as well.
Know Your Travel Risks
Let’s take a look at other steps which will be helpful for you to protect yourself and others. When possible, you should stay approximately 6 feet apart from other travelers. Avoid contact with any travelers who are sick or have a cold. Most importantly, make sure you avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Things You Need To Know
Are you planning a road trip? Car Travel is great but you will have some stops along the way. Gas, food and bathroom breaks along the way may put you in close contact with others.
Also, you must keep in mind those frequently-touched surfaces as well. If you are making a quick gas fill up, remember to protect you and your family after filling your tank and use hand sanitizer on your hands. A smart move.
Nancy and I always keep hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes readily available in our vehicle for all road trip adventures. You should also use disinfecting wipes on the gas pump handles and buttons before using them. During the road trip, if you are concerned about ordering food from fast food or sit down restaurants, you may want to pack sandwiches, drinks and snacks for your travels.
After Your Travels
After your travels, remember there is a chance of you being exposed to Covid-19. Nothing is 100% right? Maybe you’re not feeling well and maybe you have no symptoms at all. Remember, you can be contagious and show no symptoms, while spreading the virus to others.
As previously stated, Nancy and I have traveled to many different places in 2020, upon our return for the safety of others, we do our best to self-quarantine for 14-days. We recommend you to do the same to protect your family, friends and living communities.
In closing, Nancy and I hope you have found this firsthand Coronavirus travel advice helpful. Remember, you too can continue to travel safely across the U.S.A. as well. With a little common sense and taking good care of yourself, you too will be able to continue making those most needed beautiful memories. We leave you all with one last nugget, “Fear is a liar.” Happy and Safe Travels!!
