Explore Yellowstone National Park

Nancy and I were recently lucky enough to visit the amazing Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming USA. Yellowstone offers wild grizzly and black bears, thousands of wild bison, packs of wolves, giant waterfalls, and the largest concentration of active geysers on this earth.

Did you know? Yellowstone National Park is the world’s first national park and is also one of the most visited thanks to the Old Faithful Geyser and Grand Prismatic Spring. Here, you can use five entrance gates, which makes it accessible from all directions. Gateway towns include: Jackson Hole and Cody in Wyoming, plus West Yellowstone, and Silver Gate/Cooke City and Gardiner in Montana. These are the closest town to Yellowstone, where you can find hotels, resorts, and camping areas.

Are you looking to visit more area national park sites? You can visit Grand Teton, Glacier, Devils Tower, Wind Cave, Mount Rushmore, Badlands, and more within a day’s drive. In the last month, Nancy and I have been lucky enough to visit Grand Teton, Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, Badlands, and more during our South Dakota travels.

During our visit to Yellowstone National Park, Nancy and I were able to drive through the marked Continental Divide, witness the Old Faithful Geyser, and spend some time admiring Lewis Falls. You may be asking if we had an opportunity to see any wildlife. Yes, we did. In fact, we viewed Bison, Elk, Brown Bear, Coyote, Deer, and a Hawk. During your travels around the park, you will easily spot wildlife around the area.

A Memorable Old Faithful Geyser Experience

One of the top highlights of many at Yellowstone was watching the Old Faithful Geyser erupt. People from all around the world joined us as we patiently waited and watched this geyser. The Old Faithful Geyser has certainly established the establishment of Yellowstone as the first world’s national park in 1872.

The Excitement Builds For A Mighty Eruption

When visiting, you can watch the eruptions from the Old Faithful viewing area or along the boardwalks that weave around the geyser and through the Upper Geyser Basin. The eruption was not only exciting but interesting to see. A great keepsake memory. Old Faithful can vary in height from 106 feet to more than 180 feet. The average is approximately 130 feet in height.

Did you know? The Old Faithful Geyser is one of nearly 500 geysers at Yellowstone. This geyser is quite unique due to the park rangers being able to predict geyser eruptions. These eruptions happen approximately 20 times a day and every 35 to 120 minutes.

A quick stop at the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center may assist you greatly with Old Faithful Geyser times. Nancy and I picked up some souvenirs and we were also able to view the eruption time. A win win situation!

Amazing Yellowstone National Park

Our Yellowstone National Park adventure was an amazing experience. You should plan at least 3 or 4 days to leisurely enjoy all of the beautiful viewing experiences. Nancy and I were only able to spend two days here but we would have loved to enter Yellowstone from each of the entry areas.
