Learn More About The Beautiful Royal Caribbean Jewel Of The Seas

We are glad you are looking to learn more about the beautiful Royal Caribbean Jewel Of The Seas. We have just returned from a seven night Southern Caribbean Cruise on this ship.  The cruise was a world wind of a time.  Our cruise took us round trip out of San Juan, Puerto Rico and it was very port intensive.

The first day was a sea day. While the rest of the days we were on a different Islands every morning.  We spent a day in San Juan, Puerto Rico before our cruise adventure began.  There is truly so many beautiful sights to see in Puerto Rico. We enjoyed a beautiful day in Old San Juan.

Jewel Of The Seas Embarkation

Once embarked on the Jewel Of The Seas, we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff.  The embarkation process was quick and painless.  It took us no time at all.

As we made our way through the small walking maze, we couldn’t help but smile happily, we were next to check in. Most of the check in process is done in advance online so this process only takes only a few minutes.

Next, we were happily rolling our carry on bags up the gangway to enter the ship! Then just one swipe of our cabin key card and we were on board our floating resort for the week. Let the traveling adventure begin!!

Loving The Holiday Spirit

As we entered the ship, we were on Deck 4 in the Centrum area.  Here, our first stop was to get an ice cold Pina Colada at the Centrum Bar.  As we turned around, we observed the well appointed Christmas Tree.  The Christmas Tree was a beautiful sight to see!!

We love to cruise around the holidays because the staff really know how to decorate the ship for the season!  There were other beautiful Christmas Trees around the ship as well.  There was beautiful wreaths and garland strung around the Centrum as well.  The Centrum also had a Hanukkah Menorah (candelabra), for the Festival of Lights.

Lunch Break

Next, lunch was being served in the Windjammer Restaurant. We decided to check it out.  As we entered the buffet area, a staff member was there to greet us with anti-bacterial hand sanitizer.

All the eating establishments had stations of antibacterial hand sanitizer for your hands. More stations were available as you return to the ship and at other locations around the ship.  Hand washing is the best way to stay healthy! The favorite saying on the ship is, “Washy, Washy, Happy, Happy!”

The Windjammer Restaurant is set up very nicely.  They have several stations where delicious food is offered so the restaurant was very busy. As everyone bustled around, trying to see everything that was being offered.

Everyone that we came across were so excited to be finally be on the ship and start their vacation.  We also found seating in the Windjammer to be easily attainable.  In the past, this was one of my biggest complaints when we would dine there, but not on the Jewel Of The Seas!

As we were finishing our lunch, there was an announcement that the cabins were done and we could go to our stateroom.  It is always exciting to go to your stateroom the first time!  We can’t wait to see what it looks like, how big or small it is and what our balcony looks like.  It is great to drop off the carry on, that we’ve been dragging behind us as well!  We were not let down, when we got to our room!  There was plenty of storage room for the both of us. Here, we could stow our suitcases and feel comfortable, like at home.

The Solarium And The Pool Area

Now that our bags were dropped off, it was time to explore.  One of my favorite places is the Solarium. The Solarium is an adult only area with a pool, jacuzzi, bar and small eatery. It is a great place to relax. Here, the Solarium was decorated to be like an Oasis in Bali.

What a treat to have a place for just adults to relax and reflect, while enjoying their vacation or holiday.  The Solarium is right next to the Vitality At Sea Spa. Here, the spa offers many different messages. You can choose from Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone or a bamboo message.  Maybe you would also like to treat yourself to a facial, manicures/pedicures, makeup and/or hair services.  There is no reason not to look your best for the cruise formal nights!

The Jewel of the Seas also has a pool for all ages. Here, they held the Crew vs. Guests vollyball competition, movie nights on selected nights and great Caribbean music. You could also bask in the sun or relax in the shade.

The ship also had a splash area for young children. This area was called Adventure Beach. Royal Caribbean has done a great job providing pool space for everyone!

A Wonderful Dining Experience

The ship also offers a great selection of dining experiences.  There is the Main Dining Room, Windjammer and many small cafes which are covered by your cruise fare.  There is also Izumi (sushi), Giovanni’s and Chops Grille, which are considered Specialty Restaurants. Here, you can enjoy a wonderful dining experience for an additional cover charge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience in the main dinning room!  Here, we enjoyed great company at our table of ten.  With prior cruises, we have never been seated at a table for so many people. We were happy everything worked out great!

Each day, we would share conversation about what we did during the day. The stories that were shared by our table mates about each visited island was fun and sometimes hilarious!

Great Ship Entertainment

The Jewel Of The Seas offered many entertainment opportunities as well.  There is the Coral Theater, where they host live shows, music and comedy.  The Pit Stop is a sports bar.  If you feel lucky, you can try your luck in the Casino.  Feeling like a movie?  You can view one at there onboard Cinema or out on the pool deck under the stars.

There are also opportunities for fun in the Centrum as well. Here, you could enjoy the Finish the Lyrics, Christmas Carols with Cruise Staff and the Christmas Tree Lighting.  Lets not forget the art Auctions, shopping at the duty free stores and the well known adult late night game show called Quest.

The game show Quest is a interactive game show for adults only (18+).  If you’ve never been, you should check it out!  It is a hysterical game, where the audience plays against each other. You will have plenty to talk about after the show!

There is a captain on each team. Each captain has to collect and adorn every item that the game show host calls out.  Needless to say, the captains look very interesting by the end of the game.  You can only imagine everything that they are required to collect and wear. A good time!

For the active and sports guests, the Jewel Of The Seas doesn’t let you down.  They have a jogging/walking track, a basketball court, rock climbing wall and mini golf. There is also as a fully equipped fitness center as well.
