Have you ever wanted to try a small motel but you weren’t sure what you may get for a room or amenities? Well if you are ever traveling through Ripley, NY., you must give the Pines Motel a try. The Pines Motel is also located on Lake Erie. We did and were pleasantly surprised!
Upon arriving, we entered the office and no one was there. There was a phone with a note on it to page the main house. We followed the instructions, the owner quickly came over to check us in. He was also very helpful with giving us suggestions and ideas of things to do in the area.
In the room behind the office, there was a refrigerator and he offered to provide us with ice when needed. Along with the room, we received a complimentary continental breakfast.
Located close by were several Lake Erie Wine Trail wineries. If that’s something you enjoy, which we do, then The Pines Motel On Lake Erie may be a perfect fit for you.
Our room was simple but very comfortable and clean. The colors that they used made you feel like you were in an ocean front cottage. We had one double and one twin bed, a chest of drawers, a mini fridge, a microwave, air conditioner, and a TV as well as a full bathroom of course.
Right before sunset we were told to talk a walk down the path behind the office. This path leads you to the shore of Lake Erie. The sunset was breathtaking. We sat down by the water, listening to the waves crash along the shore as the sun began its descent. It was the perfect place to relax after a long day!
This motel is definitely more than meets the eye. After the sun set, we sat on some patio furniture in front of our room with our laptops to work. A very nice woman stopped by to chat.
As we talked to her she explained that she stops by this motel twice a year. Once on her way to Cape Cod and once on her way back. She has forged a great relationship with the owners and looks forward to her annual stops for the night and the friendly visit with the hosts.
If you are planning a Lake Erie trip, we strongly recommend a visit to The Pines Motel on Lake Erie! If you stop in for a stay, you definitely won’t be disappointed!!!
Happy Travels.
