Bishop’s Orchard Farm Market & Winery History

The Bishop’s Orchard Farm Market & Winery claim to be The Home of Farm Fresh Goodness Since 1871 and after our visit today we would have to agree! They offer four seasons of fun which includes spring flowers, apple blossom time, asparagus, and spinach in the Spring.  Strawberries, blueberries, and a wide variety of fruits along with corn and tomatoes in the summer time.

In the Fall Season, Bishop’s Orchard offers pick your own apples, raspberries, pears, and pumpkins.  They also offer scarecrow making, pick your own  orchard wagon rides, a hay maze, and a corn maze.

Come Winter, holiday pies and gift baskets are available along with apple gift packs and wines are shipped across the country.  They also have llamas, alpacas, and goats, which are available year round for feeding and visits.

A Delicious Wine Tasting Flight

Today, Nancy and I took some time to enjoy a Bishop’s Wine Tasting Flight as well.  The cost of the wine tasting was nine dollars per person tax included.  The Wine Tasting Flight consisted of Dry & Semi-Dry Wines, Semi-Sweet Wines, Sparkling Wines, and Hard Cider.

During our wine tasting, we enjoyed generous wine pours between good conversation about the Bishop’s Orchard Farm Market & Winery.  Nancy and I enjoyed the delicious wine tasting with the following wines matching perfectly with our palates:  Faulkner’s Spice Apple, Celebration, Honey Peach Melba, Rubus Nightfall, and the Semi-Sweet Hard Cider.

The Delicious Bishop’s Orchard Market Winery

The winery opened in 2005 and since then they have incurred over 150 medals. The Bishop’s Orchard Farm Market & Winery offer wine tastings and wine sales seven days a week.  Tours can be taken on Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm.

Certainly, after spending some time at this wonderful location, Nancy and I were not surprised that Bishop’s has been serving the Connecticut area and beyond since 1871.  Above all, this family have done an amazing job with their Orchard Farm!

If you are looking for a local family friendly Orchard Farm Market & Winery, we would highly recommend a visit to epic Bishop’s! Trust us, if Bishop’s Orchard Farm was closer to home, it would be our new shopping marketplace!!
