Whale Cove Campground | Nova Scotia

A Centrally Located and Perfect Nova Scotia Location

We recently returned from our 12-night Canada adventure, the Whale Cove Campground | Nova Scotia was one of the many highlights.  The Whale Cove Campground is located in Digby Neck. This campground is the only campground located in the Digby Neck, Long Island and Brier Island area.

We were able to easily navigate our way to the campground by following the Whale Cove Campground signs, which easily directed us to the campground.  Thanks Whale Cove Campground!!

Just Minutes From Beautiful and Tranquil Long Island

The Whale Cove Campground is also just minutes from the Long Island Ferry.  Long Island is known for its lobster catching and tourism.  The island also offers a popular and beautiful nature display of Balancing Rock and Whale Watch touring opportunities on the Bay of Fundy.

There are also  restaurants to enjoy the delicious Long Island scallops and a beautiful scenic lighthouse, with free of charge viewing.

During your time at Long Island, you may even be able to see whales from the water’s edge.  We will be sharing more on Long Island in a future blog.

A Short Ferry Ride From Long Island To Gorgeous Brier Island

At the end of Long Island you can also enjoy a short Ferry ride over to Brier Island.  Brier Island is known for its year-long Fishing and Seasonal Tourism Industry, which is largely known for Whale Watching tours.

The island offers three free viewing lighthouses and a number of hiking trails, beaches and beautiful scenic points to enjoy the beautiful Bay of Fundy.  We will be sharing more on Brier Island in a future blog.

Whale Cove Campground | Certificate of Excellence

The Whale Cove Campground is a beautiful campground, located at Digby Neck, Nova Scotia.  In 2016, the campground received the Tip Advisor Certificate of Excellence.

The campground was purchased approximately 6 years ago by the Frost family.  The campground currently offers 38 private, camping, trailer and RV sites, with 23 which are serviced.  They also off er a rental cottage, a rental trailer and a 4-bedroom Inn.

The campground also sells lobster periodically throughout the season, at approximately eleven dollars a pound.  The owners plans on adding additional camping sites in the future.

The campground has a washroom building and laundry area, located close to the Inn.  They also offer a washing station and trash/recycle area, located near the spacious and private campsites.

A Family Friendly Campground

Upon arriving at the campground, I immediately observed the campground was a family friendly campground.  I observed a play area for children and observed a father and son enjoying some soccer, while in the spacious front play area.

A Spacious, Comfortable and Newly Renovated Inn

We decided to stay in the Inn.  The Inn was just beautifully renovated within the last year.  The Inn is a single building which contains the campground office in the front of the building and Inn rental area entrance on the left-side of the building.

The campground offers room rentals at the Inn.  The Inn has a shared living space, consisting of a spacious kitchen, comfortable living room space, nice dining room and an upstairs bathroom.

Upon walking up to the inn, we observed a nice campfire pit, a table with chairs and a grilling area for your outdoor enjoyment.  Now, the time had come to enter the Inn.

Upon entering the Inn, we walked into the living room area, which was spacious and beautifully set-up for a comfortable stay.  The living room area was connected to the kitchen area.  The kitchen area had all the comforts of home, large fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and stove along with plenty of cabinet space.

The dining room adjoined the kitchen.  Their was a spacious sitting area for visitors to relax and enjoy, while sharing their Nova Scotia adventures during a meal.

A Large Bedroom Space With A Bathroom Area

We then walked to the upstairs of the inn.  The upstairs included four spacious bedrooms, with locks and keys for your privacy, and  your own personal bathroom area with a toilet and sink.

Each bedrooms also included a double bed, dresser, television, and night stand.  The upstairs also included another community bathroom area, which included a large bathtub and shower area.

Incredible Sunset and Bay of Fundy Viewing Points

After exploring the Inn, I took a walk around the campground, which is also handicapped accessible.  The campground offers a short trail that leads to a Bay of Fundy look off.  This area has two benches set-up and a table set up for visitors to relax and enjoy the stunning sunsets.

The campground also offers a Social Room and Museum located in the basement of the inn.  This area can be accessed on the back of the building, where a stairway leads into the basement.

The Social Room has a television and sitting area for campers to enjoy.  While the Museum has some unique artifacts, maps, and miscellaneous items relating to the Digby Neck and Nova Scotia area.

Whale Cove Campground Scenic Hiking Trails

I also had a chance to take a walk down a trail leading to Button’s Pond.  I would rank this hiking trail as an intermediate hike.  A beautiful area to explore and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

From Button’s Pond, I took a hike down to a walking path to whale cove.  The trails are beautifully marked off directing me as I hiked so there was little chance to get lost.

The Whale Cove Walking Path took me along the coastline of the Bay of Fundy.  Unfortunately, the fog had rolled in but on a beautiful clear day, I would honestly say the view of the Bay of Fundy would be beautiful!

An Unforgettable Nova Scotia Canada Stay

We absolutely loved the wonderful Whale Cove Campground and Digby Nova Scotia area!!  The close proximity to both Long and Brier Islands were definitely a bonus!

We would highly recommend a stay at the Whale Cove Campground, if you are looking to vacation or to explore the Digby, Digby Neck, Long and/or Brier Island, Nova Scotia area!
