V.I.V. Cave Kayaking Tour. This is sponsored post, however, all of our opinion our are own.
If you looking for a wonderful adventure in Belize, you will want to contact V.I.V. Cave Kayaking Tour. Nancy and I had a great time kayaking in the caves!! We would categorized this tour as an easy to moderate level exercise touring experience.
A Comfortable Ride To The Cave Site
First, if you are on a cruise ship, you can expect a one hour ride to the kayak tour destination. There were eight guests, including us, comfortably transported by van. During this time, you will have an opportunity to learn more about Belize and enjoy some relaxing.
Once we were arrived at the cave kayak tour destination, we were given ample time to use the restrooms and visit some of the area shops. If you decided to take this wonderful tour, we recommend you wear bathing suits, water shoes and bring water cameras. You will get wet! Food and beverages is not provided for this tour, however, food and water can be purchased here as well.
The V.I.V. Tour Guide will lock up your other personal belongings in the van. You may also pay for a personal locker if you would like. However, we found that our personal items would be safe and secure in the van. If you forget your water shoes, you can also purchase them at the tour site for a reasonable rate.
An Informative Tour Orientation
Now it was time for our us to get our V.I.V. Belize Cave Tour equipment. First, we were given our life vests and helmets with lights. Secondly, our tour group was excorted to a different area to pick up our kayak paddles. Each person had one kayak paddle to carry.
Next, we were given a short orientation of what to expect during our tour. You can expect an approximately 20 minute hike to the cave. During this hike, you will cross through three streams. There are also sections of the streams where the tour guide gave everyone an opportunity to take a swim. A nice way to cool off!!
A Wonderful Hike
During our hike to the cave, the tour guide also took the time to share many interesting things. He shared about the land vegetation including trees and plants. We also had an opportunity to get up and personal with termites, a wild tarantula and a green colored snake.
Here, you will find ample time to take in the sights and learn some interesting ways the Belize people live off their vegetation. The tour guide also was great with allowing ample time for any questions and photograph opportunities. Everyone seemed pleased!!
The end of our hike excitedly brought us to the cave entrance. Here, you will select your kayaks and prepare for your guided cave kayak tour. After climbing aboard our kayaks and turning on our helmet lights, we all proceeded into the cave. You will find this to truly be a cool experience.
An Amazing Cave Kayak Experience
The cave kayaking experience was wonderful. During our time in the caves, the guide pointed out different rock formations that appeared to look like an object. He also made sure everyone was keeping up and having a wonderful time.
At one point while in the cave, we pulled our kayaks off on a rocky area and took a swim break. Here, the tour guests were able to jump off rocks into the beautiful clean and clear water. Yes, Nancy and I did have a great time jumping in the water as well.
After swimming, the tour guide escorted us to a close by area and shared some fresh jaguar footprints with us. During the night evidently the jaguars come down into the cave for a drink of water. Here, we also saw baby jaguar footprints as well. A cool sight to see!
Now it was time to paddle back out of the cave and down stream. As we paddled out of the cave and turned off our lights, we then began our descend down the river. We had a great time! Your experience will depend on the time of year you come and the Belize rainfall amounts.
During our trip back down the river, our tour guide would be assisting everyone verbally and physically to navigate their way downstream. Our tour guide was fantastic!! There were a couple times that I had to get out of the kayak and simply place it in deeper water but the tour was a lot of fun!
A Beautiful Cave Kayak Tour Experience
At the conclusion of the tour, we simply left our kayaks on a rocky beach area. We then proceeded back down the trail to our original starting point. Here, we returned our equipment and you will have an opportunity to use the restrooms before traveling back to the port.
Our overall experience with V.I.V. Cave Kayaking Tour was wonderful. We had a great time hiking and navigating our kayaks throughout the caves. If you have never experienced this before, you will definitely have to take this tour! A great time by all!!
