Why visit Mineral Hills Winery? Recently, we had a great visit at the Mineral Hills Winery, 592 Sylvester Road, Florence, MA. We have been to Mineral Hills Winery once before and we really enjoyed it. The owners Sue and Larry Godard are super friendly and their wines are so very tasty. 😋
A Great Outdoor Venue
It was an absolutely beautiful day outside and Larry was working on the pavilion for a live music event, which they host every other weekend. The pavilion can be open on all four sides or the sides can be drawn if there is any inclement weather. Larry was just opening up two sides so a slight breeze could pass through. It was a nice reprieve from the full sun we were enjoying.
Mineral Hills Winery started when Sue and Larry took over the family farm. Larry planted his first grape vines in 2004. Then he started to build the barn, which is now the winery in 2008. In 2009, Larry was able to retire from his day job and he became a full-time wine maker. This was his dream and it is so exciting to share the fruits of their labor!
A Delicious Massachusetts Pioneer Valley Winery
Mineral Hills Winery is located in the Massachusetts Pioneer Valley. They produce wines from the traditional wine grapes as well as from fruit and honey from their farm. They also use their own fruit and fruit from locally owned farms (East Hampton MA, Amherst MA, and the Finger Lakes NY).
During our tasting, we tried their sweeter wines. We chose 5 wines from the wine list. We started with the whites: NOHO Blush, Cayuga White, May Wine, and Apple Wine. The reds were: Chambourcin, Frontenac, Red Hen Red, Wicked Blue, and Super Blue. The blues being blueberry wine. Then we had a small taste of the Mead and the Ice Apple Wine, which were both delicious!
Enjoy A Super Night Of Entertainment
After the wine tasting, we enjoyed a tour of their facility. Did you know one barrel of wine equals 300/750 ml bottles? I was surprised!

Every other weekend there is also live music with no cover charge at their beautiful pavilion. They also have an outside fire pit near the pavilion for everyone’s enjoyment.
We would highly recommend this fabulous winery! We have had two great experiences with the friendly owners and the wine. A perfect place to unwind and enjoy a glass of wine. Now you know the reasons why visit the Mineral Hills Winery. Cheers!
