As many of you know, we have recently returned from our week on the amazing Royal Caribbean’s Harmony Of The Seas. We have been cruising since 1997 and this is our thirteenth cruise. We have enjoyed eight Norwegian Cruise Line, one Disney Cruise Line, and four Royal Caribbean cruises.
Our cruising resume includes: Bermuda, St. Thomas, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Martin, St. John’s, Roatan, Cozumel Mexico, Belize, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Victoria British Columbia, Juneau/Skagway Alaska, Haiti, Dominican Republic, San Juan Puerto Rico, Hawaiian Islands, and more.
The Harmony Of The Seas is a beautiful ship which travels with approximately 6780 passengers and 2300 crew members, including eighteen decks; sixteen for passengers.
The Harmony Of The Seas included many amenities as well: a Fitness Center, The Casino Royal Casino, 20 dining venues, Studio B Ice Rink, a full size basketball court, a miniature golf course and ping-pong tables.
Splashaway Bay is a water play area for young children, 4 swimming pools and 10 hot tubs, including two hot tubs cantilevered over the edge of the ship. The Aqua Theatre, is an open air stage which host diving, aerial, and acrobatics shows.
The Harmony Of The Seas has the DreamWorks Experience, with characters from Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, etc., two Adventure Ocean programs for children and youth; also Royal Babies and Royal Tots programs.”Voom” is Royals high-speed internet at sea.
The Promenade Shopping Mall features jewelry, fashion, and accessories, a full size Carousel, Johnny Rockets and Starbucks. You can also find snacks and entertainment on the Boardwalk area.
Central Park is an open green space on board the ship. The garden path has restaurants, shops, and more than 10, 500 plants, 48 vines and 52 trees.
Central Park is absolutely beautiful! What a treat to be walking in Central Park with the twinkling lights on the trees and in the gardens, while listening to music playing softly. As a light breeze blows warm evening air all while at sea. This is why we love to cruise!!
Needless to say, we were very excited to embark on our cruise! While on the cruise we enjoyed many of the amenities. This included a haircut for me at the “Vitality Spa” to start off our cruise.
The cost of the haircut was thirty-five dollars for a thorough wash and cut, which included a free eyebrow trim. The hair salon was clean and tidy, and getting my haircut on the ship was a pleasurable experience.
What did we do for fun on the ship? We took an approximately 13 second trip down the “Ultimate Abyss”, which is the tallest slide at sea. When I looked down from the top of the slide I was tempted to turn around.
You look down off the back of the ship 10 stories to the aqua theater pool. It was very intimidating but the other side to that is thrilling and exhilarating! It was so much fun Nancy did it twice!
One Sea Day, Nancy decided she would have some fun on the Flow rider surf simulator. Nancy enjoyed showing off her stuff on the boogie board. Nancy thoroughly enjoyed the Flow rider.
In fact, she enjoyed it so much, she decided to experience the Flow rider a second time. She was talking to the instructors getting tips on doing tricks while on her knees surfing the waves. She did a great job but don’t tell her I told you so!
Shortly after, the time had come for me to enjoy a short zip line above the Boardwalk, which was approximately nine floors below. I was assisted by the friendly and helpful staff prior to zip lining.
The short zip lining experience was both fun and exhilarating. A must try if you ever decide to cruise on the Harmony Of The Seas or any of the Oasis Class ships!
The fun was not over!! I decided it was time to climb one of the two climbing walls on the ship. I enjoyed the climbing wall but I must say the climb was a little more difficult than it looked.
When climbing the rock wall, there was a strategy involved as well to take the right path to the awaiting bell at the top of the climbing wall. Although I did not make it to the top, the climb was an enjoyable experience. I promise all of you, I WILL ring the bell on our next cruise!!
After all this fun, it was time for a bite to eat. The ship offers several places to dining on the ship. For breakfast and lunch, we mostly enjoyed the buffet style service. The buffets are beautifully set up with a large variety of items to satisfy everyone’s palate.
At dinner, we enjoyed being served at one of the ships restaurants. The quality of the food was also delicious!! The Harmony of the Seas gets five out of five stars from us on the food quality and restaurant services.
After dinner, it was time to check out the entertainment on the ship. While onboard, we thoroughly enjoyed shows at the Studio B Ice Rink. The shows were fantastic and the skaters provided excellent entertainment.
I could not even imagine ice skating while the ship was crashing into the waves and these wonderful skaters were terrific and performed with ease!
We also enjoyed shows in the theatre. There is nothing like ordering a drink and sitting back in the most comfortable cushioned chairs enjoying Broadway like entertainment.
The shows and performers were excellent during the week! The Harmony Of The Seas earned five out of five stars for their entertainment.
One of the most unusual things we found on the ship was the Bionic Bar. The Bionic Bar was a sight to see in itself but we quickly found out the drinks were exceptional as well!
We simply used our ship key cards to order our drinks at the tables with an I-Pad. The drink ingredients were listed on an I-Pad computer and the process was very easy, then it was time to wait for our drink.
We were amazed to see our drink order and name were placed on a large glass screen next to the two bionic arms. After a short wait, the bionic arm began to make my drink.
The bar is set up with the all of the bottles of liquor above the bar and the mixers at the back of the bar. We were in awe as we watched the bionic arms prepare our drinks effortlessly. The bionic arms would mix the drinks by moving their arms and pour the drinks into the glass perfectly, with no spilling!
After making our drinks, the bionic arm placed my drink on the end of a conveyor belt and you would simply get your drink slid down to you after simply scanning your ship key card on the bar.
This process assured the right person got the right drink. The Bionic Bar was amazing and their drinks were even better!!
The Rising Tide Bar was one of our favorites. The Rising Tides Bar raises and lowers three floors between the Promenade level, deck 6, and the Central Park level, deck 8.
After boarding the bar and finding ourselves a seat we are greeted warmly by the bar staff. Shortly after everyone is served they would lock the doors and the bar would start to move.
The Rising Tide was such a relaxing experience and a different way to see the ship. No matter what you are drinking, make time for a ride on the Rising Tide!
Escape The Rubicon is a puzzle escape room. We were locked in the room with many puzzles to solve in order to escape. There were ten of us in the room and the attendant.
If help was required we could have up to three clues. We did manage to escape with 2 minutes and 30 seconds to spare. It was definitely a challenge and required team work. But we survived the Rubicon!
After a wonderful week of cruising on the Harmony Of The Seas, we were able to leave our cruise with wonderful memories and a smile. The Harmony Of The Seas staff did a spectacular job with assisting us and meeting our every need!
We would highly recommend the amazing Harmony Of The Seas to anyone looking for a beautiful vacationing or traveling experience!!
Happy Travels!!
