4 Wonderful Massachusetts Wineries

4 Wonderful Massachusetts Wineries

Are you looking for 4 wonderful Massachusetts Wineries? Nancy and I get so excited to go on road trips to visit Massachusetts Wineries and Vineyards!  We love to try new wines before purchasing them.  How could you get any better than that?

Nancy and I decided to meet friends for dinner in the south western part of Massachusetts, so why not check out some wineries along our way?  We did our homework by locating four Massachusetts wineries and plotted our adventure.

The wineries did add several hours to our trip but if we had to go that way anyway why not see and taste along the way.  We were glad we did and after reading this blog, you too will be ready to visit these wineries and vineyards!

Amherst Farm Winery

Our first stop was at the Amherst Farm Winery, Amherst, MA.  There tasting room is in a renovated barn.  It can get chilly this time of year in the barn.  They did mention that they close the barn for a few months during the winter months, so you should call first to see if they are open for tastings!

Amherst Farm Winery has a great selection of wines from grape wines, fruit wines, and dessert wines.  The winery also sells cheese plates to go with the wine tastings.  This was our second visit to this winery and we always find something to go home with.  We are sure you will too.

The winery also offers several miscellaneous items for sale for wine enthusiasts.  If you are interested, the following is their website:  http://www.amherstfarmwinery.com/

Pioneer Valley Vineyard

We continued on our journey to Pioneer Valley Vineyard, Hatfield, MA.  This is a winery that has been making wine for eleven years.  They have there own vines growing along the side of the winery.

The owners tend the vines and source the fresh fruit from local growers.  If you are interested, the following is their website:  http://www.pioneervalleyvineyard.com/

Raven Hollow Winery

The third stop on our tasting trip was the Raven Hollow Winery, Westfield, MA.  They winery gave huge pours for our tastings.  They certainly never have anyone complain that the tastes are too small! You will love the Raven Hollow Winery!

The Raven Hollow Winery was very cozy and the female wait staff were very friendly.  She was also very knowledgeable about the different wine varieties.  If you are interested in a visit, the following is their website:  http://www.ravenhollowwinery.com/

Echo Hill Orchard and Winery

The last winery was Echo Hill Orchard and Winery.  The winery was set up beautifully with an open pot belly woodstove and several racks of wine.  Unfortunately, we were in a rush to fit in this last winery before meeting friends at a local restaurant.  You should plan on a 30 to 60 minute visit at this winery.

After selecting our wine tastings, we were directed to a nice warm seating area with a wood stove.  The wine tasting was a little strong for our pallets.  Adjoining the tasting room, there were several rooms of a large variety of items for purchase.

Nancy and I found that we could get lost with so many adjoining rooms while shopping.  The winery also offers wine, grogs, moonshine, and other items.  You will love your wine tasting and shopping experience!

An Unexpected Holiday Gift

Upon leaving hastily, Nancy accidentally left her water bottle and wallet behind.  The following day, we called the winery and the staff had found her wallet and kept it safe.  You gotta love it!

We were obviously ecstatic and thanked the staff member with a $20 tip.  If you are interested in visiting, check out their website:  http://echohillorchards.com/

We would say that visiting these 4 wonderful Massachusetts Wineries on our winery trip was a big success! Once you visit, you will also feel the same way.

Happy Wine Tastings!!
