The Inn At Thorn Hill Restaurant & Spa was simply elegant in beauty and divine in flavor!

James and I recently stayed for two nights and were dazzled by how relaxing and comfortable we felt. It really felt like home away from home. The inn is an adults only restaurant & spa (only children 16+), you should plan accordingly.

Our Arrival

When James and I arrived, we were greeted by Steve Lambert, one of the inn owners. Once we checked in, Steve gave us a tour of the Inn and brought us to our room. I’ve never been escorted to my room and given a grand tour. This was a great touch!

The tour made us feel so welcome and comfortable! In 2018 and 2019, the inn has had the honor of being Number 7 (Romance Hotel) & Number 8 (Romance Hotel) in the United States from Trip Advisors Travelers Choice Awards.

Our Tour

We first visited the Library where there are books, board games, nice seating and a fireplace. We found it to have a great cozy feeling. On the side wall is a large map where guests can put a pin into the map, so the Inn keepers can track where their guests come from. It was really interesting to see that they have had guests from all around the world. You will be impressed!

Our next stop was the Sitting Area, which is connected to the library. It actually shares the back to back fireplace from the library and sitting area. The sitting area is a round room with all windows. It was such a great place to relax.

Adjacent to the sitting area is a coffee and tea station with daily breakfast and afternoon snacks. Let me tell you, the breakfast treats and afternoon treats were amazing! 😉 One day, there was cream cheese and lemon danishes to die for.

If breakfast wasn’t so amazing and filling, I would have snuck in a few more danishes too. James was even eating the oatmeal cookies, which he would just turn his nose up to at home. So Good! Make sure you bring your appetite!!

Cozy Lounge

For a relaxed dining experience, you can eat in the cozy lounge. Here, you can order light fare or off the main dinning menu. You can enjoy a beer, cocktail or one of the wines from the extensive wine list. Enjoy your relaxing time at the bar or in one of the comfortable chairs. You will even find cozy places to relax by the fireplace.

Dining Room

Dining in the dining room is an experience not to be missed! The country breakfasts are so scrumptious and filling. You will find there isn’t room for another bite and your breakfast is included in your nightly fee. Just your gratuities are paid to your server or put on your account.

James enjoyed an omelet on morning one. I devoured the waffles with a fresh fruit topping. On day two, James had the blueberry pancakes. I had eggs with bacon and potatoes. Our breakfast was so fresh and amazing! You will be amazed!!

The Inn at Thorn Hill not only has there regular menu items, but they also have two specials daily. This depends on what is available fresh from the farmers market daily.

Our dinner was out of this world!! There is Lamb, Duck , Short Ribs of Beef and locally sourced seafood. The dinning room has an upscale romantic feel. Guests are asked to dress smart casual. You will absolutely love your dining experience!

We ate in the dinning room one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. We started out with a bread basket and clam chowder. Best Clam Chowder around! There was no skimping on the delicious clams.

James had duck that was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and root vegetables. We left without dessert, but I’m quite sure it would have been great too! After finisheing our fabulous dinner, we had no room left for it.

The Presidential Suite

Oh My God! What an amazing suite this is! We got lost in the King size bed!! There is also a great sitting area looking out into the side yard. As you look out further, you see the Presidential Mountain Range including Mt. Washington, Mt. Eisenhower and Mt. Wildcat sneaks in a peek-a-boo. What a great view! You will love the majestic mountain view!!

As we turn to the left, there is a separate sitting area which includes a sofa bed, a wet bar and second tv. On the right of the sitting area is the bathroom.

This room is luxury at it’s best! Jim would love to clone this room. It is just amazing with the two person jacuzzi, steam room shower, double sinks and shear size to move around. It was great! You too will love this amazing suite!!

The Spa

We ventured down to the spa to peek around. The shear size of the Spa area was impressive. First off is the relaxing room where you can relax and wait for your treatment. You will love it!!

The chairs were so comfortable and the lit fireplace to help set the mood. You will quickly begin to let your shoulders down and relax.

They have two single massage rooms, as well as a couples massage room. There is also a room for manicures and pedicures. You will love these rooms!

Jim was excited to see a sauna, his favorite. With the lights dimmed just a little and the relaxing music playing, you may not ever want to leave. Relaxation at its best!

In each suite there is a robe and slippers, so you can get comfortably ready before you head down to the spa for your service. Just remember to make reservations!

Wine Cellar and Function Room

The Wine Cellar may also be reserved for an intimate evening. You may also opt for the function room, which can hold a comfortable 20 guests. The Wine Cellar won the Editor’s Pick for Best Of New Hampshire in the 2017 New Hampshire Magazine. We can see why!

Weddings and Renewing Of Your Vows

When James and I heard that Steve is a Justice of the Peace and can marry guests it made us stop for a minute. Our children had asked us if we were going to do that recently. Renew our vows.

We have passed our 22 years of marriage maybe it is something we need to think about for our 25th Anniversary. That may be fun!!! The Inn at Thornhill is such a beautiful setting for a wedding and the packages can’t be beat for the quality service!

Area Attractions

The Inn At Thornhill Restaurant & Spa is wonderfully located in Jackson, New Hampshire. Here, the inn is perfectly located! There is so much to offer the guests that visit. There is Jackson Falls, Mount Washington Auto Road, The Cog Railroad and many ski areas for alpine skiing.

North Conway is just down the road, with all it’s quaint shopping, as well as the Conway Scenic Railroad. If golfing is your thing, you can find it nearby. The area also offers fishing, hiking, tubing, kayaking and canoeing. Here, there is something for everyone throughout the year. Go to the Inn At Thornhill Restaurant & Spa!!
