11 Epic Barbados Excursions

Royal Caribbean Jewel Of The Seas

Looking for 11 Epic Barbados Excursions, read below!

We recently returned from a beautiful 7-day Southern Caribbean Royal Caribbean Cruise out of San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Our first island stop was the amazing island of Barbados.  What does Barbados offer you ask? Well, we will share 11 epic excursions that beautiful Barbados has to offer.

Turtle Snorkel Shipwrecks and Beach Day Excursion

For us, this was our second time visiting Barbados.  Our first visit, we had a great time! We enjoyed and highly recommend taking the Turtle Snorkel Shipwrecks and Beach Day excursion.

During this excursion, we explored two of the best snorkel sites in Barbados. An amazing two-hours of snorkeling in the beautiful turquoise waters and tropical reefs of Barbados.

On this excursion, we were able to swim with Barbados Green Sea Turtles and an array of beautiful tropical fish. You will enjoy exploring shipwrecks from days past. A truly wonderful and exciting experience for all ages to enjoy.

The Turtle Snorkel Shipwrecks and Beach Day Excursion is just minutes from the Barbados Cruise Ship Terminal.  Our first stop was snorkeling with the amazing ‘Barbados’ green turtles. Did you know? The turtles can grow up to 5 feet long and weigh approximately 400 pounds? Wow.

While swimming with these gentle creatures, we were also able to enjoy the abundance of sea life in the stunning turquoise waters! A wonderful snorkeling experience!!

Our second snorkel stop was the Shipwreck Snorkel, at a protected Marine Park which offers sunken vessels as far back as 1919.  Here, we enjoyed snorkeling with tropical marine life. The marine life have made their homes amongst the shipwrecks.  We had a great time snorkeling and exploring around these sunken vessels!!

You have no snorkel gear? Not to worry, Expert Guides provided and assisted us with our snorkel gear and they also gave us a brief orientation at each snorkeling spot.  The excursion is available to all swimmer levels. Flotation devices are also available if needed.

Andromeda Gardens And Scenic Countryside Excursion

Our most recent time in Barbados, we decided to take the Andromeda Gardens and Scenic Countryside Excursion.  Are you a nature lover? If so, you would love this excursion! Enjoy the spectacular natural wonders of Barbados!!

Our excursion consisted of a tour in the seat of a comfortable motor coach. We enjoyed a tour through the beautiful Andromedia Gardens and nearby Park’s Farm.

While also enjoying our most knowledgable tour guide, who provided us with interesting history facts. He also provided us with interesting photographs and other unique facts about the island.

Sugar Cane
Red Ginger Flower
Bird Of Paradise

The Andromedia Gardens were amazingly beautiful with the lush plethora of plant species, orchids, ferns, hibiscus, and large palm trees! We were amazed by the bearded fig tree. Did you know? The beautiful island of Barbados was named after this tree.

A Barbados Mount Gay Rum Break

We also enjoyed sipping on a complimentary rum drink, prior to our tour of the Andromedia Gardens.  The rum drink was delicious and made with Bardados made Mount Gay Rum!!

Banyan Tree
Lion

We were also able to enjoy the Barbados countryside. Here, we observed some black-bellied sheep and birds. Also, we enjoyed the beautiful seaside views at the top of Farley Hill.

A Bermuda Cattle Egret

We then continued our travels and arrived in the beautiful coastal village of Bathsheba. Bathsheba is the home of several mushroom-shaped rock formations.

Here, we were able to exit the coach and take many beautiful photographs of the coastal rock formations. Our tour guide informed us that this isn’t a place to swim.  There is a lot of coral to walk over, as well as a strong undertow and riptides.

A Barbados Butterfly

This awesome excursion lasted approximately 4.5 hours long.  We found the excursion to be very informative. A great for you to experience the spectacular natural wonders of Barbados!!
