Wine Making | A Delicious Hobby

Wine Making | A Delicious Hobby

Have you ever been interested in Wine Making | A Delicious Hobby?

Do you ever visit someplace and it sparks new ideas in your head? Well that is exactly what happened to me recently!!

James and I love to visit wineries for their tastings.  The last two times we’ve traveled to wineries, we’ve tasted the cranberry wine, lime/coconut, mulled wine, and a few with chocolate.  A few of these new flavors really got my wine juices flowing, yum, so I did a little research on cranberry wine and started a new cranberry batch.

A New Wine Tasting Idea

Next thing you know, off I go.  I’ve started a cranberry, a chocolate, and a cherry blueberry plum/chocolate mix batch.  Now the six month wait begins for the final products.

What I really got excited about is the chocolate wine.  As I researched, I was unable to find not even one recipe for chocolate wine, all I could find was a chocolate essence.  Wine makers make these wines and at the bottling stage they add chocolate essence to their wine to flavor it.

I got a great idea and I decided to try to make my own chocolate wine recipe but people also make wine from tomatoes, people make wine from dandelions, why not make wine from chocolate??  This is a new wine batch, so like the cranberry wine it will be six months before bottling.

More Grapes From The Grocery Store

While grocery shopping, I also spotted a frozen bag of Wyman frozen fruits and bingo, my next wine batch.  The bag consisted of cherry, blueberry, plum with cacao nibs.  I added four bags to my grocery cart along with five pounds of black grapes.  It is amazing how I get my inspiration…LOL.  All you have to be is open minded and the ideas will come.  The third batch of wine was started.

I am really expecting my chocolate wine to be a mixing wine.  A type of wine that I can mix with other flavors like strawberry, raspberry, or blueberry, time will tell!

The wine making process is a very interesting process because of the length of time it takes to complete each batch.  As time elapses, the wines taste characteristics change and I can understand now how essence flavoring can be an attractive option.  This process is quick with no six month wait.

A Lovely and Delicious Hobby

I always enjoy the end result of those great new wine ideas popping in my head.  I am always willing and always up to the challenge of trying and experimenting with new flavors.  You never know where you are going to get your next idea with the wine making | a tasteful hobby.  So now we wait.  I will keep you posted on my wines progress!
