Is anyone looking for any Winter ideas, for themselves and/or for their families?  Well, we have a great recommendation for you!! We recently visited the awesome Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory & Gardens.  Magic Wings is located at 281 Greenfield Road, Routes 5 & 10, South Deerfield, MA 01373.

Discover Beautiful Magic Wings

Here, Magic Wings is open year round 7 days a week, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. (Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day).  The area is climate controlled and they offer thousands of free-flying beautiful butterflies as well as much much more.  You will be amazed!

No strollers are allowed in the Conservatory and Gift Shop areas, however, they are Handicapped Accessible.  They also offer a unique venue for your special events including weddings, receptions, birthdays, anniversaries and corporate parties.

Magic Wings Admission and More

Upon entering Magic Wings, we walked into an open room area that offered tables for dining.  A cozy fire place was on the right side of the room.  There was also a gift shop which was adjacent to the right side of the room. Here, the gift shop offered a large variety of items for sale.  You will enjoy your shopping, dining, and relaxing experience.

At the cashier area, you were able to pay for the Conservatory Admission. All Major Credit Cards are welcome.  The Conservatory Admission is Adults…$16, Seniors (age 62 and over)…$14, Children/Students (age 3-17/up to 22)…$10, and Children under 3…Free.

There was also a coat room due to the Butterfly Conservatory having a climate control environment.  The temperature is approximately 70-75 degrees and a designated area for a photo opportunities.  We also observed a hallway on the right side of the room.  The hallway took us to the food court area and restroom area.

After paying our admission and having a butterfly stamp placed on our left hands, we were excited to see what Magic Wings had to offer.  We walked through a doorway excitedly into a room which offered a several different type of reptiles in fish tanks.  You will be pleasantly surprised!

The area was not crowded and we easily walked around taking photographs with ease.  We were impressed with the reptile display which offered several different reptiles from around the world.  After enjoying our time in the reptile room, we proceeded to excitedly walk through a door way which led us into the butterfly conservatory.  A great place for you and your family to explore!

The Magical Magic Wings Experience

Wow!! As we walked into the conservatory, we quickly observed thousands of beautiful butterflies flying around.  There were several different plants in the room, where the butterflies food stands were set up for the butterflies.  You will be  amazed!

As I started walking down the walking path, the butterflies began circling around me and a butterfly landed on my arm.  We found this to be a pretty cool experience!  Nancy quickly took a picture of the amazing butterfly moment.

Shortly after the picture, the butterfly elegantly flew away and we proceeded to walk down the spacious walking path.  I was quickly amazed by the number and beauty of the butterflies.  There were several different types of butterflies with beautiful vibrant colors.  Yes, we took several pictures of the beautiful butterflies and we are sure you will too!

Here, we quickly found out, the Conservatory offered so much more than the butterflies!! Along the walking path, we observed beautifully colored birds and  fish.  We also observed beautiful flower and even some turtles.  You will want to take a leisurely walk in this area to take in Magic Wings beauty.

A Relaxing Experience For All

There was also benches and a gazebo sitting area inside the conservatory.  The Conservatory was beautifully arranged.  Here, we also observed friendly staff reminding the children not to touch anything in the Conservatory.

Magic Wings staff also explained to us, before entering the conservatory, we could spend the entire day in the conservatory.  We were thrilled and this made our visit most enjoyable.  You too will appreciate a full day at Magic Wings!

After spending a little over an hour in the Conservatory, we decided to have a late lunch in the food court.  The food court offered both eat In and/or take out.  Yes, the food was delicious and we are sure you will think so as well!

The Delicious Food Court

The food court hours are 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. (9 A.M.-6 P.M. in the Summer and Closed both Thanksgiving Day/Christmas Day).  Here, the food court offered soups, salads, grill items, fresh deli sandwiches, sides and beverages.

Magic Wings also offered good beginnings, bagels with cream cheese and great endings, butterfly cookies of course, chocolate chip cookies and brownies.  All of the menu items were family friendly priced!! If that wasn’t enough, they also offer soft serve ice cream all year round.  Bring you appetite, you will find the food to be delicious!

The food court also had a second cafeteria style sitting room.  This area had tables with chairs and was decorated for the holiday season.  Yes, a beautiful Christmas Tree as well.  After ordering our food, the staff brought the food to us, as we decided to do take out.  A great option for you as well.

A Great Overall Experience

Upon leaving Magic Wings, we were simply amazed and impressed by our entire visit.  The amazing Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory & Gardens is definitely a place to put on your bucket list for anytime of the year!! I am not sure if they are all indigenous to the area, but I don’t think so. All they colors were so nice. Especially on a cold winter day when you need to feel warm. It makes you feel like summer.
